6 Remove Control Box Cover

6A
On the LulzBot Mini 3D Printers v1.03 below serial number KT-PR0035NA-7500, locate and remove 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the front of the printer, and another 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the rear of the printer.

On the LulzBot Mini 3D Printers v1.04 with serial number KT-PR0035NA-7500 and higher, locate and remove 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the front of the printer, another 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the rear of the printer, and 2 M3x12 BHCS bolts on the bottom of the printer.

6B
Slide case left to remove.

6C
Some wires (power supply and fan) go from case mounted components to frame mounted components. Remove case slowly to avoid unplugging them accidentally. If a wire becomes disconnected, please refer to the image of the Mini RAMBo connections and the LulzBot Mini 3D Printer v1.04 or LulzBot Mini 3D Printer v1.03 electrical guide for more detailed instructions on reconnecting.

6D
Carefully place cover on its side next to the printer, with all wires still connected.

7 Plug-in LCD Harnesses to RAMBo

7A
Thread both harnesses through frame hole and down towards the RAMBo, the electronic motherboard, as shown in image. Harness should pass over the black cords, and down through gaps in the wiring on the RAMBo.

Note: Be very careful with the wires on the RAMBo so they aren't disconnected. They may need to be moved around slightly in order to pass the harness through.

7B
Locate harness connections on the RAMBo, as shown in image. Notice that P1 is on bottom, and P2 is just above P1.

7C
Plug-in harness with white label into the P2 connection on the RAMBo with dark red wire/brown wire positioned on the far left side of the harness.

Note: To keep track of separate harness connections, it is suggested to connect the harness with the white label to P2.

7D
Plug-in other harness without white label into the P1 connection on the RAMBo, just below P2, with dark red wire/brown wire positioned on the far left side of the harness.

8 Reattach Control Box

8A
Slide control box cover back on.

8B
On the LulzBot Mini v1.03 and earlier versions, reattach control box cover by screwing back in the 3 M3x6 FHCS on the front of the printer, and another 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the rear of the printer.

On the LulzBot Mini v1.04, reattach control box cover by screwing back in the 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the front of the printer, another 3 M3x6 FHCS bolts on the rear of the printer, and 2 M3x12 BHCS bolts on the bottom of the printer.

Note: There should be 2 M3x6 FHCS bolts left over.

9 Plug-in LCD Harnesses to GLCD Controller

9A
On the back of the GLCD, locate P1 and P2 labels below respective connections. P1 is on the left, P2 is on the right.

9B
Thread the harnesses down through clip on the back of the GLCD, as shown in image. Plug in each harness to the back of the GLCD with the dark red/brown wire positioned on the left-hand side, and the black wire on the right-hand side. It's important to connect the harness with the white label to P2, to match the connections on the RAMBo.

10 Attach GLCD Controller to Printer

Note: For users with the LulzBot Mini Enclosure by Printed Solid, remove the front set of enclosure panels and the center set of enclosure panels, using the Printed Solid assembly guide as reference. Then, replace the original 3D printed bracket on the front right with this 3D printed replacement bracket, inserting the longer M3x40 bolt that comes with the enclosure into the top right hole with a 2.5mm hex driver. Go slow and be careful since the bolt will be going through two threads, the one on the frame and the one on the LCD mount. Insert the M3x25 FHCS bolt that comes with the GLCD in the indented top left hole with a 2mm hex driver (as shown in image). The replacement bracket is shaped to fit snugly just above the GLCD, and is included in the images for positioning. Continue with instructions below to install the GLCD below the replacement bracket.

10A
When facing the printer from the front, remove M3 x 6 FHCS bolt in the top right corner of the frame, as shown in image. Set the bolt aside safely.

10B
When facing the printer from the right side, remove the M3 x 6 FHCS bolt in the top left of the frame, second from the top, as shown in image. Set the bolt aside safely.

10C
Slide GLCD Controller from left to right, and align the two M3 holes in the printer's frame with their respective holes in the GLCD controller. This may require some force.

10D
Attach the GLCD controller by holding the GLCD controller with one hand and screwing in the M3 x 25 FHCS bolts through the 2 M3 holes previously mentioned, as shown in images.

Replace M3x6 FHCS on side of printer frame

11 Attach Side Cable Bracket

11A
Locate side cable bracket.

11B
Locate both M3 screw size washers and secure one on each M3x8 BHCS bolts.

11C
Facing your printer from the front, thread harnesses through the side cable bracket, and hold in place above the frame hole. Adjust orientation so that holes align with frame.

11D
From the outside of the frame, insert the M3x8 mm BHCS with washers through frame holes into the side cable bracket.

Note: For users with the LulzBot Mini Enclosure by Printed Solid, place center section of cover back over printer, and insert the M3x10 mm bolt (came with enclosure) through the enclosure side, through the printer frame, and into the bottom hole of the cable bracket (as shown in image). The top hole will still use an M3x8 mm BHCS, as described above.

12 Attach Top Cable Brackets

12A
Locate two top cable brackets.

12B
Locate four M3x6 FHCS bolts.

12C
Facing printer from the front, locate two M3 holes on the far top-left side of the outside of your printer’s frame.

12D
From the side cable bracket going up the inside of the printer frame, thread harnesses upwards through the first top cable bracket, and hold in place. The open end of the bracket should be facing the inside of the frame. Adjust orientation so that bracket holes align in frame, and insert both M3x6 FHCS through the frame and into the bracket. The harness cable should feel secure.

12E
Facing printer from the front, locate next set of M3 holes on the top of the frame, just next to the GLCD. Repeat steps above for this set of holes, inserting M3x8 BHCS through frame holes into the top cable bracket.

14 Restart Printer

14A
Once firmware has finished updating, Power down and restart printer.

15 Saving Files to SD Card

15A
Locate the SD card slot on the computer, or use an adapter to connect the SD card to the computer.

Note: In order to print files using the GLCD Controller, the files must first be saved onto the SD card, and then the SD card must be removed from the computer and inserted into the GLCD controller. Some computers have slots built in for SD cards while others will require an adapter.

15B
In Cura, print files can be saved from the bottom-right corner of the screen. First select the down arrow to the right of Print via USB button, then select Save to File.

Note: If a printer is not connected to the computer, this button will just be labeled as Save to File. If an SD card is connected to the computer through an adapter or a built-in slot, there will also be a Save to Removable Drive option. Selecting this will save the print files (G-code) to your SD card with one click.

15C
Once the file is saved to the SD Card, remove the SD card from computer or the computer adapter.

15D
Insert the SD card into the side of the GLCD Controller, as shown in image.
