Using a 6mm reamer, clean out the four holes on both PP-FP0245 parts where HD-RD0070 will be inserted.
Gather the following parts and tools:
2x PP-FP0244
8x HD-MS0480
1x HD-RD0070
Screwdriver
deburring tool (located in the HD-MS0480 bin).
Insert HD-MS0480 into the top halves of both PP-FP0244 using the screwdriver.
Use the arbor press to fully seat the bushings into place.
Flip both PP-FP0244 parts over and repeat the process: insert HD-MS0480 into the bottom halves.
Again, use the arbor press to seat the bushings.
Deburr the edges of the bushings using the deburring tool.
Test the fit of HD-RD0070 through the bushings—it should fall cleanly through with minimal resistance.
Power on the test printer and navigate to “Menu.”
Select “Change Filament.”
Choose “2” and plug in AS-CB0210 to extend the actuator.
Choose “1” and plug in AS-CB0211 to extend the actuator.
Both actuators should now be slightly extended.
Grab 2x PP-MP0336 (use 2x PP-MP0335 for TN175) and remove the LGX blocks from the motors. Save both the blocks and the screws for later use.
Attach 2x PP-MP0352 to 2x PP-MP0338 (use 2x PP-MP0505 to 2x PP-MP0357 for TN175).
Using the red block jig and a 9mm wrench, tighten the heat breaks into the hot blocks. Be careful not to overtighten and damage the parts.
Insert 8x posts from HD-MS0100 into the hot blocks.
Install 2x PP-MP0345 onto the posts over the heat breaks.
Using a torque screwdriver and 4x #2 screws from HD-MS0100, torque the screws through the hot blocks into PP-MP0345. Ensure all screws are fully tightened.
With 4x HD-BT0284 and Loctite, install the LGX blocks onto PP-MP0345.
Reattach the LGX blocks to the extruder bodies using the previously removed screws. Make sure the blocks are seated fully.
Attach 2x PP-MP0416 nozzles to the hot blocks using the nozzle torque tool (use 2x PP-MP0412 for TN175).
For TN175 only:
Insert 2x HD-MS0080 (11mm length) into the LGX block on top of the heat breaks.
Remove the braiding on AS-CB0210 and attach the ground wire as shown using screw #1 from HD-MS0100.
Attach the small fan from AS-CB0210 in the orientation shown using 2x HD-BT0261.
Install the heater cartridge from AS-CB0210 and EL-TH0015.
Secure both using screw #1 from HD-MS0100.
Grab black block #1 and use it to help balance the Tool Head during the next steps.
Bend the ground wire, heater cartridge, small fan wire, and EL-TH0015 downward to follow along PP-MP0345 toward the motor.
Form a clean 90-degree bend so the wires aim toward the motor plug.
Attach PP-GP0746 using 2x HD-BT0007.
Double-check to ensure no wires are pinched during installation.
Grab PP-FP0244, 2x HD-BT0137, and 2x HD-WA0027.
Attach PP-FP0244 using the screws and washers, but leave this part loose for now.
Using PP-FP0245, hook in all wires except the actuator wires.
Install 1x HD-RD0070 in the position furthest from the wires.
Secure the rod using HD-BT0162. The rod should seat flush with PP-FP0245 on the side with the set screw—do not force it.
Fold PP-FP0245 downward slightly.
Place all wires (except the actuator wires) into PP-GP0743.
Fold PP-FP0245 back up and attach PP-GP0743 using HD-BT0157.
Make sure all wires remain fully seated in PP-GP0743.
Plug the motor wire from AS-CB0210 into the motor.
Install HD-RD0070 in the position closest to the wires.
Secure the rod with HD-BT0162. Again, ensure it sits flush with PP-FP0245.
At this point, PP-FP0244 should be able to slide freely.
Grab black block #2 and the “U” spacer.
Place the “U” spacer onto HD-RD0070 between PP-FP0244 and PP-FP0245.
With the motor assembly oriented as shown, slide black block #2 underneath the hot block.
Ensure no wires are between the hot block and block #2, or between PP-FP0245 and the table.
Press down evenly on the hot block and both sides of PP-FP0245, then tighten both HD-BT0137 screws on PP-FP0244.
Attach the actuator to PP-FP0244 and PP-FP0245 using 2x HD-BT0137 screws.
Rewrap the braiding around the wires and secure it with 1x HD-MS0588 zip tie.
Place 1x DC-LB0160 serial number sticker on the connector of AS-CB0210 as shown.
Set this completed motor assembly aside for now.
Remove the braiding from AS-CB0211 and attach the ground wire as shown using screw #1 from HD-MS0100.
Attach the small fan from AS-CB0211 in the orientation shown using 2x HD-BT0261.
Install the heater cartridge from AS-CB0211 and EL-TH0015.
Secure them using screw #1 from HD-MS0100.
Grab the black block #1.
Use black block #1 to help balance the Tool Head during the next few steps.
Bend the ground wire, heater cartridge, small fan wire, and EL-TH0015 downward to follow along PP-MP0345 toward the motor.
Form a 90-degree bend so the wires face the motor plug.
Attach PP-GP0746 using 2x HD-BT0007.
Double-check to make sure no wires are being pinched while tightening this part down.
Attach PP-FP0244 using 2x HD-BT0137 and 2x HD-WA0027.
This part should remain loose for the time being.
Using PP-FP0245, hook in all wires except the actuator wires.
Install 1x HD-RD0070 in the spot furthest from the wires.
Use HD-BT0162 to secure the rod. Be careful not to force the rod in. The rod should sit flush with PP-FP0245 on the side with the set screw.
Place all wires (except actuator wires) into PP-GP0743.
Attach PP-GP0743 using HD-BT0157.
Double-check to ensure the wires stayed in place.
Install HD-RD0070 in the spot closest to the wires.
Use HD-BT0162 to secure the rod. The rod should sit flush with PP-FP0245 on the side with the set screw—do not force it.
PP-FP0244 should now slide back and forth fairly freely.
Plug in the motor wire from AS-CB0211 into the motor.
Grab black block #2 and the “U” spacer.
Place the “U” spacer onto HD-RD0070 between PP-FP0244 and PP-FP0245.
With the motor assembly oriented as shown, slide block #2 underneath the hot block.
Make sure no wires are between the hot block and block #2, or between PP-FP0245 and the table.
While pressing down on the hot block and both sides of PP-FP0245, tighten both HD-BT0137 screws in PP-FP0244.
Attach the actuator to PP-FP0244 and PP-FP0245 using 2x HD-BT0137 screws.
Reattach the braiding around the wires and secure the end with 1x HD-MS0588 zip tie.
Place 1x DC-LB160 on the bottom of the motor near the motor plug as shown.
Attach the Right Motor Assembly PP-FP0245 to PP-FP0246 using 2x HD-BT0118.
While tightening the screws, lift up on PP-FP0246 while pushing down on PP-FP0245 to help square up the parts.
Attach the Left Motor Assembly PP-FP0245 to PP-FP0246 using 2x HD-BT0118.
While tightening the screws, lift up on PP-FP0246 while pushing down on PP-FP0245 to help square up the parts.
Attach PP-GP0764 (PP-GP0740 for TN175) using 2x HD-BT0005.
Insert the blower fan from AS-CB0210 into the blower shroud and attach using HD-BT0171 and HD-WA0038.
Make sure the fan sits flat on the blower shroud while tightening the screw.
Attach PP-GP0744 on the Left Motor Assembly PP-FP0245 using 2x HD-BT0157.
Attach PP-GP0742 on the Left Motor Assembly PP-FP0245 using 2x HD-BT0140.
Attach PP-GP0741 on the Right Motor Assembly PP-FP0245 using 2x HD-BT0140.
Attach the Tool Head to the test printer by placing the PP-FP0246 over the red block on the test printer and inserting the small Allen wrench through the middle hole on the top of PP-FP0246.
Turn on the test printer and select “USB Drive.”
Select “Taz Pro Test.gcode” and hit “Print.”
When prompted to “Touch PROBE to Noz 1,”
Take the probe and tap it on the left nozzle.
When prompted to “Touch PROBE to Noz 2,”
Take the probe and tap it on the right nozzle.
While the tool head is testing make sure that the 2 small fans are on. When the actuators engage make sure that the PP-FP0244 slides bottom out on the PP-FP0245 and no wires are getting pinched. Check that the motor on the side that is down is turning once the tool head is heated up. Once both motors have cycled the blower fan will kick in to cool down the tool head. Check that the blower fan is working.
