Project Dashboard Maintenance and Repairs Hexagon Hotend Adapter Harness [EL-HR0072] Workflow

1 Gather parts

Parts:

  • 2x- 24AWG stranded Red wire, 1300mm in length [EL-WR0103]

  • 2x- 24AWG stranded Orange wire, 1300mm in length [EL-WR0104]

  • 6x- 22-24AWG female terminals for red an orange [EL-MS0059]

  • 1x- 4 position female connector [EL-MS0062]

  • 1x- 2 position female connector [PC-CN0001]

  • 1x- poly bags [SH-PG0003]

Tools: - Wire cutter

  • Wire stripper

  • Wire crimper

  • Measuring device

Tools

2 Cut, Strip, and Terminate wires

Cut 1300mm lengths of 24AWG stranded Red (2 ea) and 24AWG stranded Orange (2 ea)

Orange wire, Strip 4mm of insulation on each side of cut

Red wire, one end of each wire only, strip 4mm of insulation

Red wire, other end of each wire only, Plan for 2mm of insulation strip at 6mm

Apply 22-24AWG female terminals [EL-MS0059] to each stripped wire ends, ensure each terminal is crimped onto both the wire and insulation of each cut end

3 Plug wires

Plug Red wire into positions 3 & 4 of 4 position female connector [EL-MS0062]

Plug Orange wire into position 1 of the 4 position female connector [EL-MS0062]; Plug opposite end to position 2 of the 2 position connector [PC-CN0001]

Plug Orange wire into position 2 of the 4 position female connector [EL-MS0062]; Plug opposite end to position 1 of the2 position connector [PC-CN0001]

Verify wires are plugged in to their proper positions

Layout and plug in your wires to the connectors

4 Package assembly

Starting with the 4 position connector, Loop bundle to an approximately a ~75mm or ~2.5” diameter circle the harness making sure to prevent sharp turns of the wire.

Place assembly into resealable poly bag [SH-PG0003]
