The Process for dissassembling the MOARstuder Hotend [HE-SH0047] and the E3D Dual v3 Hot End Left [AS-HE0040] to create the TAZ Gunnison Hotend Assembly [AS-HE0039]
Tools needed:
1.5 Hex driver
2.0 Hex driver
7mm Crescent Wrench
18mm Crescent Wrench
Bionic Grip Wrench
Parts needed:
E3D MOARstruder Hot End, 3.0mm Filament, 1.2mm Nozzle, assembled [HE-SH0047]
E3D Dual v3 Hot End Left [AS-HE0040]
MOARstruder Thermistor Extension [AS-CB0014]
MOARstruder 175mm Zero Sense wire [AS-CB0010]
E3D 180mm Heater Cartridge
V6 Copper Nozzle [PP-MP0196]
M3 Lock Washer [HD-WA0035]
M3x8 BHCS [HD-BT0104]
Gather E3D Dual v3 Hot End, Left, Pre-Assembled (AS-HE0040) for the following steps:
Remove the Retaining plate with the 2.0 Hex Driver as shown
Loosen the 2 set screws in the heater block to remove the Thermistor and the Heater Cartridge.
Remove the Thermistor and Heater Cartridge.
Save Heater Block for assembly instructions
Remove the nozzle and heat break from the heater block by using the 18mm and 7mm crescent wrench as shown.
Loosen and remove nozzle prior to removing heat break
Gather MOARstuder Hotend [HE-SH0047] for the following steps:
Use the Bionic Grip wrench to secure the heat sink and remove the Heater Block with the 18mm crescent wrench (as shown).
Save MOARstuder heat sink for assembly instructions
Remove retaining plate as shown
Loosen set screws in the heater block with the 1.5 Hex driver to remove the thermistor and heater cartridge
Save the thermistor for assembly instructions
Loosen the nozzle using the 18mm and 7mm crescent wrench prior to removing the heat break from the heater block as shown
Save the heat break for assembly instructions
Parts needed for assembly:
V6 nozzle
Retaining plate w/ M3 screw
Heater Block from V3 Dual
MOARstruder heat break
M3 Lock Washer
M3x8 BHCS screw
E3D Dual v3 Hot End, Left Heater Block
MOARstruder heat sink
MOARstruder 50mm thermistor
MOARstruder 180mm thermistor extension
MOARstruder 175mm zero sense wire
E3D V3 Dual left 180mm heater cartridge
Note the orientation of parts
Install the heat break into the heater block
Torque the nozzle into the heater block at 30 in*lbs
After nozzle is torqued, install the heat sink and torque to 15 in*lbs as shown
Install the ground wire with the lock washer against the heater block as shown
Insert the thermistor, heater cartridge and retaining plate
Secure the thermistor and heater cartridge by tightening both set screws with the edge of the casing flush with the surface of the heater block as shown
Tighten the M3 screw to secure the retaining plate as shown
Connect the thermistor extension to the thermistor
Gunnison Hotend Assembly complete!
